Emergency Relief Support Worker

About the Role

WSMRC is seeking a dedicated, skilled and experienced Emergency Relief Support Worker to be responsible for delivering high-quality support to individuals and families experiencing immediate financial hardship. The role provides crisis assessment, distribution of Emergency Relief funding and material aid in line with DSS guidelines, and connections to longer-term support services. The position ensures culturally safe, trauma-informed, fair and accountable delivery of emergency assistance.

 

In this role you will:

– Conduct assessment for individuals and families in crisis and distribute Emergency Relief funding and material aid in line with DSS guidelines

– Deliver casework services to CALD clients experiencing immediate financial hardship as part of an integrated and person-centred approach that prioritises the needs of individuals and families.

– Establish and maintain effective referral pathways to CALD and Mainstream services to address financial needs of an individual and families from CALD background.

– Attend external interagency meetings, forums, committees, conferences, consultations, and community events.

Community Development and Stakeholder Engagement Lead

About the Role

As the Community Development and Stakeholder Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating community engagement initiatives that strengthen participation, social inclusion, and place-based outcomes for our communities.

The role fosters strong relationships across key stakeholder groups including community members, partner organisations, government agencies, peak bodies, and service providers and provide community capacity building support, training, grant writing, event management support, and mentoring to community leaders, community members, and community groups from migrant and refugee backgrounds supported by WSMRC and the Western Sydney Region Settlement Consortium (WSRSC).

This role will also have responsibility for overseeing and guiding a team of WSMRC staffs delivering essential community programs, youth services and other programs targeting young people and communities from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

Volunteers for Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) Program

Western Sydney MRC is seeking  volunteer visitors to provide friendship and companionship for our Elderly community members for 1hr a fortnight. 

Visits are available to anyone receiving government subsidised aged care services in an aged care home or through a Home Care Package (HCP)
