Seeking 4 non-Executive Board Members to join our vibrant, committed, and effective Board.

Following rotational movements on our existing Board as well as recognising the skills we require on our Board as we enter a very dynamic phase in the provision of our services, 4 Board vacancies have now arisen.

  1. Developing and promoting the role of Western Sydney MRC to diverse communities in Liverpool and surrounding areas

  3. Identifying and promoting the needs of disadvantaged groups

We achieve these objectives by undertaking wide-ranging support programs, including:

  1. Multicultural services and Settlement support
  2. Aged care support
  3. Youth programs
  4. Community development
  5. Disability support programs

As a registered nonprofit organisation, our focus is to serve our community and ensure their varied requirements are being understood and addressed in collaboration with our local Councils, our State and Federal Governments, and numerous organisational service delivery partners where we maintain excellent and community-beneficial relationships.

To fill these positions, we seek appropriately qualified and experienced individuals who understand the functioning of nonprofit organisations, especially within the Settlement and Multicultural services sector. Policy Officer

Western Sydney MRC has an exciting opportunity for a Policy Officer to work across diverse communities in the local areas, working directly with the Senior Managers, CEO and the Board and building links and networks with external stakeholders. This role aims to represent and promote issues of importance with communities and will lead statements, submissions and position papers for the organisation and communities. This is an opportunity to make a difference in meeting the aspiration and needs of a dramatically changing environment. This is an 18-month role (with the possibility of extension) that is flexible position both in time and blended in working in and out of the office. Western Sydney MRC is a family-friendly work environment.

A Policy Officer provides timely, accurate and persuasive advice underpinned by analysis, contextual awareness and stakeholder consultation. Our policy officer role involves supporting the Western Sydney MRC to develop and debate policies on key issues affecting refugees and migrants in the region, including education, settlement, employment and health. The successful candidate will be passionate about creating connections between the community and local services.

Sing and Grow

Sing & Grow is a music therapy program providing services for children aged 1-6 years old and their families. Our programs focus on strengthening family relationships, supporting parents to understand their children’s development, and encouraging learning through music and sharing traditional and non-traditional children’s songs.

At Western Sydney Migrant Resource Centre, we have a range of services that can help in strengthening your relationship across several areas including support for victims of family and domestic violence. Our family support team can help you recentre your approach and guide you on a path to healthy and balanced relationship goals. From the nuclear family unit to the intergenerational home, every situation has a unique set of
circumstances that require a balanced and supported approach.
