Western Sydney MRC Ltd is a community based not-for-profit organisation established to support newly arrived migrants, refugees and diverse communities to reach their full potential.

 

Our objective is to ensure the quality of Western Sydney MRC Ltd services and programs through effective and efficient management. Through our service and projects, we hope to:

 

  • Develop and promote the role of Western Sydney MRC Ltd to diverse communities across Western Sydney
  • Promote the principles of access and equity for diverse communities
  • Identify and promote the needs of particular disadvantaged groups.

 

Western Sydney MRC is currently seeking, at its discretion, to appoint up to 3 (three) non-executive board members. The Board of Western Sydney MRC operates with a strategic focus, placing emphasis on leadership, strategy, and policy, as opposed to the day-to-day implementation of operations and activities. This approach ensures that the board’s efforts are concentrated on guiding the organisation’s overall direction and impact. This Board position is voluntary, for a minimum of 3 years as per our organisation Constitution.

 

Essential expertise required

 

We are actively seeking board members with a proven track record of experience in governance, either through current board roles or with credentials in one or more of the following key areas:

  1. Financial Acumen, encompassing a deep understanding of financial management principles
  2. Legal Proficiency, demonstrated by expertise in relevant legal matters for not-for-profit organisations
  3. Corporate Governance Excellence, showcasing a history of providing strategic guidance in matters of governance, risk management, and policy development.

 

In addition, we are actively seeking individuals along with a proven track record of governance experience, those with a distinguished skillset in Business Development, Innovation and Corporate Sponsorship, and Fundraising to join the Board of Western Sydney MRC as outlined below:

 

Business Development & Innovation

We are looking for candidates who have a demonstrated ability to not only identify growth opportunities but also implement them effectively. This includes finding innovative approaches to achieve the organisation’s objectives, showcasing a track record of strategic thinking and execution.

 

Corporate Sponsorship & Fundraising

We are particularly interested in individuals who have proven expertise in developing and executing corporate sponsorship and fundraising strategies and campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a history of creating successful partnerships and campaigns that drive financial support for the organisation.

Volunteers for Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) Program

Western Sydney MRC is seeking  volunteer visitors to provide friendship and companionship for our Elderly community members for 1hr a fortnight. 

Visits are available to anyone receiving government subsidised aged care services in an aged care home or through a Home Care Package (HCP)
