Connect English is a conversational English program that connects volunteers with refugees seeking to develop spoken English skills and build friendships across cultures. Connect builds functional English to assist social inclusion and offers friendship and cross-cultural exchange between volunteers and participants.
Western Sydney MRC prides itself in our volunteer program creating opportunities for localised experience , connection and career pathways.
The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) formerly known as Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) funded by the Australian. The aim of this program is to enrich the quality of life of older people who have been identified as being lonely or socially isolated and might benefit from having a regular volunteer to provide friendship and companionship. Connect with our elderly clients through volunteering an hour a fortnight to do a home visit or remote connection (phone/video call).

Unlike paid staff, volunteers are not covered by awards or work-place agreements. Volunteers however do have rights, some which are enshrined in legislation and some which could be considered the moral obligations of an organisation involving volunteers.
